The 2015 U.S. Women’s Open had elements that will be difficult to match: record crowds, a dramatic final round featuring a brilliant performance by the champion, and all the hoopla surrounding the biggest sports event ever held in Lancaster County.

This year’s United States Women’s Open at Lancaster Country Club will be the highest-paying event in the history of women’s golf, the USGA announced Thursday.
A small gathering — only a dozen people or so — turned out for a town hall meeting about the 2024 U.S. Women’s Open, held Wednesday evening at the Manheim Township Public Library.
